Investigation and analysis of the current situation of knowledge-attitude-practice of health education in elderly patients with hypertension of different genders

Hypertension is an important risk factor for death and disability in the world, and it has gradually become a global public health problem. Clinical data show that the incidence of hypertension increases with age, and two-thirds of the elderly over 60 years old in my country suffer from Hypertension, but the control rate was only 18.4%. Hypertension has the characteristics of low awareness rate, low treatment rate and control rate, which seriously threatens the life and health quality of the elderly. Health education can improve the popularization and awareness rate of hypertension prevention and treatment knowledge, which is of great significance for stabilizing blood pressure, preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular complications, reducing national medical expenses and disease burden, and improving the health level of the whole nation. Therefore, health education for elderly hypertensive patients is an important part of the prevention and treatment of hypertension in my country. Studies have found that the mortality rate caused by hypertension is increasing year by year, and there is a certain gender difference. The findings explain differences in treatment responses between the sexes. Knowledge, belief and action is a behavioral intervention theory, which divides the change of human behavior into three continuous processes of acquiring knowledge, generating belief, and forming behavior. It is widely used and has shown satisfactory educational effects through practice. Therefore, this study investigated the health education knowledge, belief and behavior of elderly hypertensive patients, analyzed the current status and gender differences of health education knowledge, belief and behavior, further analyzed the influencing factors of medication compliance in elderly hypertensive patients, and explored more effective health education methods. To provide more effective suggestions and references for self-management of elderly hypertensive patients.
