Refers to the perception and behavior of individuals who perceive social, personal, psychological, and spiritual benefits from a negative event (illness or trauma). The caregiver’s sense of benefit from illness is the positive change that the caregiver perceives in the process of caring for the patient. At present, foreign research shows that in different care situations, caregivers can experience multi-dimensional benefits in the process of caring for patients, such as personal growth, changes in life philosophy and health improvement. However, domestic research on caregivers, sense of benefit from disease is in its infancy, and there are few studies on the sense of disease benefit of caregivers of elderly patients with type ⒉ diabetes.
