English
verbs are divided into three groups: normal verbs, non-continuous verbs, and mixed verbs.
N O R M A L V E R B S
Most verbs are "normal verbs." These verbs are usually physical actions which you can see
somebody doing. These verbs can be used in all tenses.
Examples: to run, to walk, to eat, to fly, to go, to say, to touch, etc.
N O N - C O N T I N U O U S V E R B S
The second group, called "non-continuous verbs," is smaller. These verbs are usually things
you cannot see somebody doing. These verbs are rarely used in continuous tenses. They
include:
A B S T R A C T V E R B S
Examples: to be, to want, to cost, to seem, to need, to care, to contain, to owe, to exist...
P O S S E S S I O N V E R B S
Examples: to possess, to own, to belong...
E M O T I O N V E R B S
Examples: to like, to love, to hate, to dislike, to fear, to envy, to mind...
M I X E D V E R B S
The third group, called "mixed verbs," is the smallest group. These verbs have more than
one meaning. In a way, each meaning is a unique verb. Some meanings behave like "non-
continuous verbs," while other meanings behave like "normal verbs."
Examples: to appear, to feel, to have, to hear, to look, to see, to weigh...
J E N E I L D E M E Y E R

Document Outline

Normal Verbs

Non-Continuous Verbs

Abstract Verbs

Possession Verbs

Emotion Verbs
Mixed Verbs

Simple present

Simple present uses

Simple Present Tips

Mindmap
Present continuous

Present continuous uses

Present continuous tips

Mindmap
Simple past

Simple past uses

Simple past tips
Past continuous

Past continuous forms

Past Continuous Tips

Mindmap
Present perfect

Present perfect uses

How Do You Actually Use the Present Perfect?

Present perfect tips

Mindmap
Present perfect continuous

Present Perfect Continuous Uses

Present perfect continuous tips

Mindmap
Past perfect

Past perfect uses

Specific Times with the Past Perfect

Past perfect tips

Mindmap
Simple future

Forms

Simple future uses

Simple future tips

Mindmap
Future continuous

Forms

Future continuous uses

Future continuous tips

Mindmap
Future perfect

Forms

Future perfect uses

Future perfect tips

mindmap
Future perfect continuous

Forms

Future perfect continuous uses

Mindmap
Conference

Speech

Offering an opinion

Vocabulary for a formal conversation

Lay-out

Vocabulary to write an application letter

Examples:

Examples of application letters

Assignment 1: monologue

Assignment 2: reading 2 articles

Assignment 3: inventions

Giving your opinion about …

Statements about …

Find a solution for …

Written assignments examples

National service

Article : child labour

Plastic surgery

Animal cruelty

Child care benefit

Reduce costs: wedding

Vacation

overpopulation
Tips

Scoring
Movies

A step-by-step guide

Examples of movies
